POSTCARDS FROM L.A.

I just finished the final illustrations for two cookbooks coming out this fall. It's been six months in the making and I feel such a sense of accomplishment and relief. Because I've been drawing nonstop, I've had very little time to work on videos so each day I've been documenting 15 second snippets of my life in Los Angeles; mainly trying to capture the glamor, the grubbiness, the graffiti, the artificiality, the routine, the excitement, and the beauty of it all. Other than putting these short bits on Instagram, I haven't really known what to do with them. Last night I compiled some of these clips and created this love letter to L.A.

The song in the background is something I've been listening to a lot lately. It's the last piece of music I did with someone that meant a lot to me. They moved away shortly after this was recorded and nothing ever became of our project or our starry eyed L.A. dreams. I'm not exactly sure if the song was finished or if the person even remembers recording it with me. I love it nonetheless.
